The John Wayne Pioneer Trail (Iron Horse Trail) is groomed for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Great trail for beginners as this is flat! The exact mileage that is groomed now is not known as they continue to groom and deal with down trees. At this time we understand you can go at least 3 miles towards the east. Also, this can busy and I would suggest an early start.
Flat and groomed trail |
Directions: From Seattle I-90 and take Exit 54 turn right at end of exit ramp. Then go a short distance to the stop sign and turn left. Go about 1/8 of mile and turn right and the Sno-park is on first right. You need Sno-Park permit and State Discovery Pass.
Trail Stats: The groomed trail goes 8 miles+ once everything is open and groomed.
