Fagin's Hike of the Week: Mount Ellinor

Hike in the Olympics near the south end of the  Hood Canal. Views from the top of: Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, Mt. Olympics, and Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams in the distance.

In the forest to start the hike
Driving Directions: In Hoodsport, leave Hwy 101 on State Route 119. Follow 119 the 9.3 miles to its end. Turn right on Forest Road 24 and follow 1.6 miles. Turn left on Forest Road 2419. You’ll reach the lower trailhead in 4.9 miles. Parking here is limited, but usually not crowded.

Trail stats: 3300 foot gain and 6.2 miles roundtrip from lower trail. I have also seen mileage at 6.6
