Fagin's Hike of the Week- Hidden Lake Lookout

Updated September 14, 2017

This is certainly one of the most scenic hikes I have done. In the North Cascades with views of the major peaks in the area. Trailhead is outside the town of Marblemount and the last part of the drive is up a steep narrow  logging road. On our hike we stopped at the saddle with views of Hidden Lake and the lookout is another 300 feet scramble to the top.

Constant views of major peaks

Driving Directions: From Marblemount on Hwy 20, drive the Cascade River Road just short of 10 miles to the junction with FS 1540 and is marked Hidden Lake Trail and turn left. Drive the steep,  rocky road 4.5 miles to the road end and trailhead. Parking is limited.

Trail stats: I have seen several mileage indicated and  one is 8 miles  and my track (listed below) is 7.3 roundtrip to the saddle at 6600'. However a more accurate number is 9 miles roundtrip. To go to the lookout it is another 300'.  Track
