Weather Washington Cascades: Extended

Issued August 6, 2014

Short term forecast models are indicting some cooling for our area for today and through the end of the week. Then some brief warming early next week.
.
However some of the extended models (Climate Predication Center) through August 18 are suggesting continued dry and warm conditions. However the map below suggests a trough that forms off our coast on August 15 and that would indicate cooler conditions and chance of precipitation for that period. Lower confidence in the forecast but it seems that we are looking at some changes as we move towards the  middle of August.
