Fagin's Hike of the Week: Tonga Ridge / Mount Sawyer

This hike is off of Hwy 2 near Skykomish, with great views of Mt. Rainier, Baker, Glacier Peak, Daniel and more. The weather will be better Saturday (9-21) vs. Sunday.

Driving Directions:
From Seattle drive US 2 east just past Skykomish
Turn right onto Foss River Road (Forest Road 68).
Continue for 3.6 miles
Turn left onto FR 6830.
Go 6.9 miles and bear right onto FR Spur 310
After 1.4 miles reach the trail head.

Trail Stats: Hike about 2 to 2.25 miles and go to  trail on your left. This goes up to the top. Total miles is 3 one way and 1200 foot gain to 5500 foot level. We added just less than a mile to hike to southeast to Sawyer Pass which is a nice meadow. Here is the track
