Fagin's Hike of the Week: Crystal Peak

Updated June 28, 2017

There are just 2 very small snow patches near the top that are easy to cross. These patches should be melted out in a week or so. On a clear day you can see 5 volcanic mountains: to the south Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, and Mt. St. Helens. To the north was Glacier Peak. There were some clouds to the northwest so we could not see Mt. Baker.
Mt. Adams
Rainier up close
White River and Mt. Rainier
Lots of flowers on the way up

Driving directions: From Seattle take Highway 410.  Trail head is 4.5 miles past the Crystal Cutoff, with parking on the right.

Trail Stats: 7.8 miles round trip and a 3400 foot gain. Good workout, Here is the track
