Weather Washington Cascades: Extended Outlook

Updated 1-31-2017
Starting this Friday and continuing through Monday we have a return to wet conditions and will add to the snowpack once again. The reason is troughs of low pressure drop down from the northwest. Then on Tuesday through Thursday of next week forecast models suggest a ridge of high pressure builds over our region for a mostly  dry pattern. Finally by next Friday 2-10  (see map below) we return to a wet pattern through the middle of the month as a series of troughs of low pressure will drop down from the Gulf of Alaska.

500 mb (18,000') for 2-10-2017
