Weather Washington Cascades: Extended Outlook

Issued June 3, 2016

Starting June 8 and continuing to June 10 we have some cooling as several troughs of low pressure drop down from the north. So normal to slightly below normal temperatures over this period. Also normal to slightly above normal precipitation for this period.

Then starting on June 12 we have (see map below) a weak ridge of high pressure in place which should bring normal to perhaps slightly above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation till the middle of the month. In fact some of the US forecast models suggest most of June will have above normal temperatures as we are under a ridge of high pressure; we will see if that verifies.

Weak ridge for June 12 at 500 mb- 18,000'
