Most folks just go to Talapus or Olallie Lakes. But if you go beyond to Rainbow Lake you be on the ridge with views of Mt. Rainier. Trail is located just west of Snoq Pass. Thanks to Maria Lamarca Anderson for most of the photos.

Driving Directions:From Seattle, head east on I-90 to exit 45. Turn left, and drive under the freeway on FR 9030. In 1 mile follow the road around to the right at a junction. Continue straight on a gravel, sometimes severely potholed road to the trailhead at the road's end. Northwest Forest Pass required.
Trail Stats: 10.9 miles roundtrip and about 2300 elevation gain
