Weather Extended Washington Cascades

Update 12-25-2012
After the wind and mountain snow today, forecast models are starting to suggest a shift in the weather patterns beginning on Friday 12-28-2012. A ridge of high pressure will build creating a drier pattern relatively to what we have seen during the last 30 days. The 500 mb map (18,000 feet) bears this out; a weak ridge of high pressure sets up off the Washington coast. Thus we will have normal to below normal temperatures and snow for the first week of January.
