Many locations in the West Cascades have double the amount of snow on the ground compared to last year and last year was an above normal snow year. The extended outlook through the end of the year continues this snowy mountain pattern. Forecast models continue below normal temperatures and normal precipitation. This combination will continue the buildup of mountain snowpack and the map below confirms that. The maps below (500 mb-18,000 foot) shows a trough of low pressure off the Washington Coast
