Fagin's Hike of the Week: Gallagher Head Lake

Gallagher Head Lake


This hike is outside of Cle Elum in the Teanaway area. This trail has very gentle grade and offers views of Hawkins Mountain and Esmeralda Peaks.

Driving Directions: From Seattle take I-90 east to Cle Elum and take Hwy 970 about 7 miles to Teanaway Road and turn left. Follow this paved road and then turn right on gravel road, North Fork Teanaway (9737). Go about 8.5 miles and turn left on FR 9737-120 and go short distance to De Roux Campground and trailhead.
Trail stats: 8.5 miles and we did a very little off trail and about 2000' foot gain. Here is the track.
