Updated October 19, 2017

This hike is in the Teanaway area, near Cle Elum. Note that we did this hike several weeks ago and no snow on the groulnd. Now there will be some snow on the higher parts of the trail. Best day to hike is Sunday and even better Monday (10-23) or Tuesday (10-24).

Driving directions: Drive east on Interstate 90 to US 97. About two miles north of Mineral Springs, look for Forest Service Road No. 9714 (Iron Creek Road) going off to the left (west). Continue about 3.5 miles to road's end and the trailhead and parking at 3,800 feet.  Many folks park 100 yards or so before the official trailhead due to road conditions.

Trail stats: From the trailhead take trail 1351  to the Knob at  (5489 feet) and this is about 6.4 miles round trip. Great views here. Some folks like to go to Jester Mountain which is about another 0.50 mile (north and east) at 5520 feet and the waypoints are :N47°22.324' & W120°321' . This is harder to find than the Knob at 5489 feet and views at the Knob are great.
