Weather Washington Cascades: Extended Outlook

Issued: May 3, 2017

Starting this weekend forecast models showing a mostly zonal pattern (wind from west to east) and we get alternating ridges of high pressure (dry conditions) and troughs of low pressure (wetter pattern). Thus, through May 13 we are thinking temperatures close to normal and precipitation close to normal or perhaps slightly above normal. You know the old saying, if you don't like the weather now just wait and it will quickly change.

500 mb (18,000') with trough off of our coast on May 13
