Fagin's Hike (Ski-Snowshoe) of the Week- Mowich Lake

Issued: 12-1-2016

I did this trip several years ago, however there are several trips that suggest you can drive to the park boundary at the gate at about 3800'. There was patchy snow on 11-30-2016 and several inches at 4000' and 18 inches at 5000'. However there will be lots of new snow over the next several days. This is a good snowshoe or crosscountry ski trip.

Driving directions: From Enumclaw drive  west on State Route 410 to Buckley. Turn Left (south) onto SR 165 and proceed through Carbonado. Just beyond the Carbon River Gorge bridge, bear right onto Mowich Lake Road. Follow the road about 19.6 miles to gate at about 3800'. Or drive till snow stops you.

Trail stats: 10 miles roundtrip and 1400' gain
