This hike is just west of Snoq Pass and offers great views and lots of wildflowers. If Mt. Defiance is too many miles for you , just stop at Mason Lake and that makes a wonderful hike. Thanks to Alan Bauer for the photos.

Driving Directions: From I-90 and going east take Exit 45 (Forest
Road 9030.) . At a fork 0.8 miles from I-90 take the left
branch onto Road 9031. . At 3.8 miles from I-90, reach the large parking area
for the Ira Spring Trail (#1038.) .
Trail Stats: 11 miles roundtrip and about 3600 gain.
