Weather Washington Cascades- Extended Outlook

Updated 2-10-2015

The weather pattern through 2-19-2015 will feature a ridge of high pressure (see map below) that will be over our region. Thus above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation will be the rule. This has been the pattern for much of the winter as the ridge of high pressure is over the West Coast for much of the time and cold air remains locked over the Midwest and East Coast. This pattern seems to get "locked in" with storms having a diffcult time moving inland towards Washington state.

This pattern (as of 2-2015) has resulted with Boston having more snowfall than Snoq Pass so far this season.

The only exception is when we have had several strong pineapple expresses that have brought heavy rain to the mountains.
