Fagin's Hike of the Week: Summerland & More

 

This is a great summer hike at Mt. Rainier with flowers and views. Photos from 2019 but just hiked so very similiar conditions. Photos by Alan Bauer.

Driving Directions:
From Enumclaw, take Highway 410 east 43 miles to the White River Entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park.
Turn right on White River Rd/Sunrise Road, follow this 4 miles to the trail head .

Trail Stats: 8.5 miles round trip and 1950' gain to Summerland. We went on to Panhandle Gap (total miles is about 12 ) and here is the track. Just before there are several small snowfields to cross. In the afternoon sun snow is soft so no issues. We did notice one person used micro-spikes
