Fagin's Hike of the Week- Mt. McCausland

Fagin's Hike of the Week- Mt. McCausland

This hike is best approached just east of Stevens Pass. Great views of Lake Valhalla and Glacier Peak and reasonable trail stats. I was just there 2 weeks and the few patches of snow are gone by now.

Driving directions:
From Seattle take Hwy 2 east

About 4 miles after Stevens Pass turn left and cross Hwy 2 Westbound. You do actually go onto Hwy 2 westbound but cross it and you will be on Smilthbrook (FR 6700).

Go about 2.5 miles and you will find a big parking lot on the left for the Pacific Crest Trail.

Trail Stats: 7 miles round trip 1700 feet gain here is our track. About 3 miles from the trail head you will find an unmarked trail (to your right) and this goes up to the Mt. This turnoff is before dropping down to Lake Valhalla.
