Fagin's Hike of the Week: Sasse Ridge

This road was gated but still made a great hike with great views. The gate should open soon and once it does open  you can hike to Jolly Mountain, and or Sasse Mountain

Far right is Mt. Daniel and next to it (left) Hinman
3 Queens to the right
3 Queens
Trail Stats: Here is our track since we parked by gated road . We went close to 7 miles roundtrip about 1800' gain. Great views! Once the gate is open then you park at the trailhead and hike to Jolly Mountain and Sasse Mountain by starting on  Sasse Ridge trail. If you hike to both mountains total mileage close to 11 miles and less of course if you just hike one of them

Directions: Drive I-90 east to exit 80, and exit, heading north on Bullfrog Road (crossing the freeway). Pass through two roundabouts, following signs for 903, and pass through the town of Roslyn and Ronald. Just past the turnoff for Forest Road 46, look for an unsigned, paved road to the right. This is FR 4315 we were able to drive several miles before that gate. Once the gate is open you would drive it 7.5 miles (from the main road) to a parking area high above the Salmon La Sac valley.
