KUOW- Hike of the Week- Clay Creek

This hike is off of Hwy 410 east of Enumclaw. Open south facing slopes offer views of Mt. Rainier and is now snowfree and usually is. Photo below is Michael hiking on logging road with views of Mt Rainier photo @Dennis Long

Route Click here Check out route on Clay Creek and make sure to go to first viewpoint at 2.5 miles . 
Driving Directions: From Enumclaw drive on State Highway 410 east drive past milepost marker 36 and park on the left and look for sign that says road 6208. The start of this is before you get to the small town of Greenwater. Trail Directions follow the main road 6208 veer to the right in less than a mile and then veer to left on FS 6200. At 2.5 miles to to spur FS 6209 to viewpoint for a snack break and views of White River and Mt. Rainier. This part is only 5 miles roundtrip with about 1000 foot gain. Always bring map-compass-GPS as these directions are the best estimates. Click here To get permit that you need to access this area .
