Fagin's Hike of the Week: Oyster Dome

Updated: December 22, 2017

Just south of Bellingham this is a great hike and we went to Samish Overlook, then to Oyster Dome and then to Lily Lake. There is forecast of light snow and cold temperatures so  you might want to bring your micro-spikes. Best to this Saturday or Sunday. If you want to ski this is always a good one Cabin Creek

View west from Samish Overlook
View from the Dome toward Olympics-hazy day
View at Lily Lake

Driving directionsFrom Seattle drive I-5 north , take the Chuckanut Drive exit off of I-5 (exit 231). Drive north just past the 10 mile post on Chuckanut Drive (SR 11) and park on the paved, wide place on the west shoulder. Be very-very careful on parking on the shoulder and if your car's tire is over the "fog line" you will be towed.
Trail stats: To the Overlook then to the Dome and to Lily Lake and back it is close to 8 miles total. Here is the track
